Retool Developer (Business Logic)

We are looking for a talented Retool Developer with experience in PostgreSQL, a solid grasp of business processes (administration, accounting, marketing, recruitment, etc.), and the ability to create impactful solutions using Retool’s low-code platform. This role focuses on developing and maintaining applications that enhance business operations, streamline workflows, and support organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development:

• Build and maintain custom business applications using Retool’s low-code platform.
• Leverage JavaScript fundamentals and basic coding to enhance Retool functionality.
• Develop data-driven solutions using SQL and Retool Flows.

Database Management:

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, write efficient queries, and ensure data security and performance.

Business Process Understanding:

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into user-friendly workflows and application interfaces.

Integration & Automation:

• Integrate third-party services such as Stripe, LINE, QuickBooks, and Slack using APIs.
• Automate repetitive processes and create scalable, efficient workflows.

Testing, Debugging, & Deployment:

• Ensure application stability and performance through testing, debugging, and iterative improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Retool Expertise: Experience in using Retool to build custom applications; knowledge of its capabilities and limitations.
• Liquibase Knowledge: Proficiency in Liquibase, an open-source database schema management tool, including experience with version control for database changes, automating schema updates, and maintaining consistency in multi-developer environments. Familiarity with commands, changelogs, and CI/CD integration is a plus.
• Basic Technical Skills:
  JavaScript: Foundational understanding to enhance Retool’s functionality.
  REST APIs: Knowledge of working with APIs to integrate various services.
  SQL: Ability to create and optimize queries for PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Business Acumen: Familiarity with business operations and the ability to transform needs into effective technical solutions.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities.
